What Does The Bible Say About Itself?
It is important when looking at the Word of God to see what it says about itself. This is called internal evidence. Below I have included some verses that speak about the Word of God and what the God of the Bible has spoken:
The Bible is God's Written Word
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:20-21
The Bible is Without Error in its entirety
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; Titus 1:2And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that God,and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant: 2 Samuel 7:28
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Proverbs 30:5
The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Psalms 12:6
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. John 17:17
The Bible is God's Completed Revelation to Man
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminishought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Deuteronomy 4:2What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
