The Lord Delivers Those Who Hope In Him. Psalm 33

The Bible in Psalm 33 teaches us a very important lesson for all people that those who trust in the Lord will
be delivered by Him.  Here are the verses I am referring to:
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! The LORD looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man; from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds. The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you. Psalms 33:12-22
Notice what this passage states:
  1. The nation who God is the Lord will be happy (blessed).
  2. God, who made all, observes all the deeds of all people everywhere.
  3. The nation (king) or person who trusts in might to deliver from trouble is a false hope that will fail.
  4. Those who trust in God's faithfulness (steadfast love) will be protected and delivered from trouble and death.
We learn that those who trust in God has the promise of deliverance from all trials and that those who trust in other things beside God will be disappointed.  We also learn that God is always watching out and taking care of those who belong to Him (like the Good Shepherd of Psalm 23 or John 10: 9-10).

My question to you today is who are you trusting?  If you truly trust in God as stated in this passage, the Lord will be with you until the end (Matthew 28:20).  He will never let you down because you trust who He is and you hope in His undying love. He may let you go through trials, but never outside of His watch care and protection (as stated in Romans 8:28 and following and 1 Corinthians 10:13).  Even in death He will deliver your soul from judgment!  How do I begin to trust in God you may ask?  You begin by believing in the Gospel that Jesus Christ, God's only Son, was sent into the world to died for your sins, and that He is alive today (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).  By doing that, you become born again and become a child of the Everlasting God (John 1:12; John 3:3; John 5:24).

When my life was fainting away, I remembered the LORD, and my prayer came to you, into your holy temple. Those who pay regard to vain idols forsake their hope of steadfast love. But I with the voice of thanksgiving will sacrifice to you; what I have vowed I will pay. Salvation belongs to the LORD! Jonah 2:7-9
