Bible Answers For Life: How Long Will America Last? A Biblical Perspective on America's Greatness

I have attached a link to the post I wrote 4 years ago about America's greatness. What was said then still holds true in 2015.  Sadly, our nation is today in worse moral shape--going further down the slippery road of sin, redefining evil as good and good as being evil.

I am reminded in Scripture that although it appears that the immoral person has won, and the Christian has lost, the Bible makes is very clear that the immoral person will lose in the long run.

Remember what the Lord said will happen to the entire world at His return:

Luke 17:26-30  Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27 They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28  Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot--they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, 29  but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all-- 30  so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
This passage gives us light that the sinner was fully enjoying their activities when judgement fell.

In addition, in Daniel 5:1-31, we learn that Babylon was in the midst of a great party when the finger of God wrote the doomful words on the plaster wall and allowed the Medes and Persians to conquer Babylon that very night.

If God deals with sinners this way in the past and in the future, what will it be like the day the Lord ends the immoral nation called America?  Only God knows, but my educated biblical guess is that it may occur when we as Americans leased expect it. Until that day occurs, God's grace is available allowing Americans the opportunity to get right with Him.

My prayer during this time of waiting is that Americans will open their eyes to their sin and repent and believe in the Gospel which is the power of God to salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16-17) and be saved from the wrath to come (Matthew 10:28, Revelation 6:15-17).
